Quiet Suburban Life at it's Finest in Pflugerville

For people who want the affordability of living in the suburbs, but also want to live close into the city of Austin, look to moving to Pflugerville, Texas.  The town’s proximity to Austin and the ease of the commute on Interstate 35 makes this town ideal for commuters who want to minimize their commute time but still have the advantages of suburban life for raising a family.  The Capital MetroRail that connects Pflugerville with downtown Austin is slated to be complete in 2008, making the commute even easier, and making a residence in Pflugerville even more desirable.  The ease of the commute between Austin and Pflugerville even makes the town attractive to University of Texas students.

Pflugerville is a humble community with the cheery sense of humor known to the Central Texas region. Sandwiched between Austin and Round Rock, residents of Pflugerville have an array of options for job opportunities as well as entertainment.  A short jaunt down I-35 puts residents into downtown Austin, where they can enjoy the famed live music scene, and a jaunt up I-35 puts you at the Dell Diamond to root for the minor league baseball team, the Round Rock Express.  Pflugerville sits right in the middle of the rapidly developing I-35 corridor, giving residents plenty of options for shopping, restaurant dining, and entertainment.

The town gained its unusual name to honor an early settler to the area named Henry Pfluger, who settled in the area after escaping the Prussian War in 1849.  Citizens of Pflugerville wear the town name with pride, even going so far as to name the local newspaper the Pflugerville Pflag.  The town has benefited from the tech boom of the Central Texas area, transforming from a sleepy small town to a bustling suburb, growing from 4,500 residents in 1990 to over 28,000 residents now.

The town has made itself attractive to people looking to settle where they can raise a family, building two swimming pools and a recreational center and providing plenty of sports teams and community activities.  As is usual with the Central Texas region, Pflugerville has numerous parks and outdoor areas where residents can enjoy the warm Texas weather.  Lake Pflugerville is the site of plenty of fun activities, including the annual 4th of July fireworks display called the Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival.  The local library also hosts regular community education events on a range of topics.

People move to Pflugerville to enjoy the quiet suburban life without giving up easy access to the employment, shopping, and recreation opportunities of the larger metropolitan area
